Ravens Hire Georgia’s Monken To Be Offensive Coordinator

On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens football announced that Todd Monken, formerly the offensive coordinator at the University of Georgia, has been hired as their new offensive coordinator. Monken had held the same position at Georgia for three seasons, during which time the team won two consecutive national championships.

Baltimore’s head coach, John Harbaugh, reported that the team had conducted 21 interviews with 14 candidates before selecting Monken. According to Harbaugh, Monken’s leadership and coaching skills were evident from the start. He has a proven track record of designing and teaching offensive systems that help players excel at the highest level. Harbaugh is looking forward to working with Monken to build an offense that will help the team compete for championships.

Monken has NFL experience, having served as the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three seasons before that. He was also the head coach at Southern Mississippi from 2013-2015.

Monken is taking over from Greg Roman, whose tenure with the Ravens ended after the team averaged just 13.6 points in its final six games before losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card round. The team’s star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, was injured during this period, and his future with the team is uncertain because he does not have a contract for next season.
